Home Mission Statement

The mission of Bread of Life Church is to exalt Jesus Christ as Lord by embracing and exemplifying four major commitments: (1) Love for the Lord, (2) Instruction in the Word, (3) Fellowship with the Saints, and (4) Evangelism in the World. Together, these four elements create L.I.F.E.

LOVE FOR THE LORD

"Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: 'Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?' Jesus replied: `Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: `Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." ~ Matthew 22:34-40

   - WORSHIP: Expressing our honor and praise to the Lord in vibrant, heart-felt worship
   - INTIMACY: Nurturing a personal relationship with the Lord
   - DEVOTION: Displaying an exclusive allegiance to the Lord in all aspects of life
   - GODLINESS: Pursuing a life that manifests Spiritual fruit and eternal values


INSTRUCTION IN THE WORD

"But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." ~ 2 Timothy 3:15-16

   - SUBMISSION: Obeying the Word of God as the final standard for our faith and practice
   - PRECISION: Proclaiming the whole counsel of God with accuracy and faithfulness
   - CONSISTENCY: Adhering to the doctrines of the orthodox Christian faith
   - TRANSFORMATION: Applying biblical truth leading to a Spirit-filled lifestyle


FELLOWSHIP WITH THE SAINTS

"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching." ~ Hebrews 10:24-25

   - UNITY: Preserving the harmony of the Spirit in our families and in our church
   - ACCOUNTABILITY: Stimulating one another toward greater personal holiness
   - HUMILITY: Manifesting an love authentic and a servant's heart in our relationships
   - MINISTRY: Equipping God's people to be effective servants by refining their character and gifts


EVANGELISM IN THE WORLD

"Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." ~ Matthew 28:18-20

   - INTEGRITY: Reflecting Christlike holiness and humility in all things
   - COMPASSION: Exhibiting a love for the lost in meeting physical and spiritual needs
   - BOLDNESS: Taking the initiative to share the gospel in our families, community, nation and world
   - MISSIONS: Dedicating ourselves to reach the world for Christ (sending, praying, supporting and going)
