Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. … What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? – Matthew 16:24, 26
The end of all things is near. Therefore be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. – 1 Peter 4: 7~8
Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. – 1 Peter 4: 9~10
Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. – 1 Peter 4: 12~13
務要牧養在你們中間 神的群羊,按著 神旨意照管他們;不是出於勉強,乃是出於甘心;也不是因為貪財,乃是出於樂意;
Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. – 1 Peter 5: 2~3
In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” – 1 Peter 5: 5
Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. – 1 Peter 5: 7
Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. – 2 Peter 1: 4

The LORD detests those whose hearts are perverse, but He delights in those whose ways are blameless. – Proverbs 11:20

The wicked are overthrown and are no more, but the house of the righteous stands firm. …Those who work their land will have abundant food, but those who chase fantasies have no sense. – Proverbs 12:7, 11
The way of fools seems right to them, but the wise listen to advice. Fools show their annoyance at once, but the prudent overlook an insult. – Proverbs 12:15~16
