Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. … What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? – Matthew 16:24, 26
神的旨意就是要你們成為聖潔,遠避淫行;
It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; – 1 Thessalonians 4: 3
For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life. – 1 Thessalonians 4: 7
and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you, – 1 Thessalonians 4: 11
Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. – 1 Thessalonians 4: 13
You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober. – 1 Thessalonians 5: 5~6
But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet. – 1 Thessalonians 5: 8
And we urge you, brothers and sisters, warn those who are idle and disruptive, encourage the disheartened, help the weak, be patient with everyone. – 1 Thessalonians 5: 14
Through the blessing of the upright a city is exalted, but by the mouth of the wicked it is destroyed. …A gossip betrays a confidence, but a trustworthy person keeps a secret. – Proverbs 11:11, 13
The LORD detests those whose hearts are perverse, but He delights in those whose ways are blameless. – Proverbs 11:20
A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. …Those who trust in their riches will fall, but the righteous will thrive like a green leaf. – Proverbs 11:25, 28
The wicked are overthrown and are no more, but the house of the righteous stands firm. …Those who work their land will have abundant food, but those who chase fantasies have no sense. – Proverbs 12:7, 11
The way of fools seems right to them, but the wise listen to advice. Fools show their annoyance at once, but the prudent overlook an insult. – Proverbs 12:15~16
Diligent hands will rule, but laziness ends in forced labor. Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up. – Proverbs 12:24~25
Those who guard their lips preserve their lives, but those who speak rashly will come to ruin. A sluggard’s appetite is never filled, but the desires of the diligent are fully satisfied. – Proverbs 13:3~4
Where there is strife, there is pride, but wisdom is found in those who take advice. – Proverbs 13:10
