Covenant of Fellowship

Having received Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior, I now unite with the Bread of Life Church family, dedicating myself to personal and corporate growth in Christ through the Word of God and prayer.

In this union, I commit myself to God and to the members of this church to:

Preserve the Unity of the Family of God (John 17:22)

by showing love and care toward other members through word, action, and prayer (1 Peter 1:22)

by refusing to gossip about leaders or other members of our church (Ephesians 4:29)

by submitting to the caring guidance and accountability of the church’s leadership and statement of faith (Hebrews 13:17)

by gathering faithfully with the congregation for worship and edification (Hebrews 10:24-25)

Participate in the Life of the Body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:12-13)

by serving with all diligence in my area of giftedness within the Body (Romans 12:6-8)

by growing in my abilities and attitudes to become a more effective servant for Christ through reliance on the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 4:11-12)

by establishing mutual accountability with others for a consistent spiritual walk with Jesus Christ (1 Thessalonians 5:14)

by supporting the work of the ministry of Bread of Life church through finance and personal effort (Romans 15:27)

Promote the Growth of the Kingdom of God (Acts 1:8)

by showing a consistent witness for Christ through purity of life and doctrine (Ephesians 4:1)

by raising a family according to God’s principles as found in the Holy Scriptures (Deuteronomy 6:6-7)

by sharing the Gospel of Christ at ever opportunity that God supplies (2 Timothy 4:1-2)

by supporting the work of making disciples of all the nations in my community and around the world (Matthew 28:19-20)

As a consequence of this union with the local congregation of Bread of Life Church, Torrance, I affirm the responsibility of this church and its leaders to provide both encouragement and discipline to keep me accountable to the principles of this covenant.
