2026 Theme: As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord

Having been dramatically rescued from cruel Egyptian bondage and triumphantly led into the Promised Land, the Lord recounts his faithful and gracious actions (Joshua 24:1-13). Being mindful of all that they have received from the sovereign Lord over all creation, Joshua challenges the nation to wisely choose whom they will worship. Setting an example for others to follow, Joshua declares that he and his family will serve the Lord.

Like ancient Israel, we have also been delivered from the domain of darkness and transferred into the kingdom of God’s beloved Son through his boundless mercy. Since forgetfulness of his blessings and slipping into idolatry (something/someone becomes more important than God) are real temptations for us today, let's resolve as biological and spiritual families to serve the Lord at all times and in every way.

Sensing that the time of his departure has come, the one-time persecutor of Christians who became the all-time apostle of Christ is ready to go home. Having fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith, Paul leaves with no regrets. Through his rock-solid example and time-sensitive message, Paul urges us (along with Timothy) to be strong, courageous, and faithful to Jesus until the very end, building a family legacy that ripples all the way into eternity.

Current Sermon Series: Family Dynamics (June-July)

Whether it's our physical appearance, mannerisms, personal quirks, or way of speaking, we tend to resemble our parents. Additionally, our unique family culture establishes particular patterns of relating (some healthy, others unhealthy). By placing our faith in Jesus, God graciously adopts us into his eternal family as his beloved children. With God as our Father and Jesus as our Savior, the Holy Spirit creates an entirely new culture of mutual support and accountability within our spiritual household. In multiple places, the New Testament writers point to God's pattern of relating with us in Christ as the template for how we treat one another. By replicating God's example, we grow closer to others as we become more like Jesus.

TOGETHER. FOREVER. These two simple words encapsulate the ultimate family reunion that awaits all who long for the appearing of our Lord. As God's beloved children, we eagerly anticipate being TOGETHER FOREVER in the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ (along with all who have trusted in him for eternal life). While preparing for our Savior's coming (and reuniting with all the saints), let's be like the first-century Thessalonian church and strive to be known for our work of faith, labor of love, and steadfastness of hope.
