Verse: Daniel 3:17-18 (HCSB) – “17 If the God we serve exists, then He can rescue us from the furnace of blazing fire, and He can rescue us from the power of you, the king. 18 But even if He does not rescue us, we want you as king to know that we will not serve your gods or worship the gold statue you set up.”

The “fires” that our culture uses to pressure us today to compromise our faith have been around pressuring God’s people to compromise for centuries. When overwhelmed by these pressures, God wants us to know and experience His Presence with us. In God’s hands, the believer is not destroyed by fire, rather he/she sees that God uses it to purify and refine us through these fires. The college years and setting may feel like the days of Daniel: surrounded by fire, walking through fire but God can and will use these times, circumstances and settings to group our us in Christian courage, integrity, witness and hope. Join us at this year’s college retreat as we learn how to have a vibrant growing faith even as we walk with God “through the fire”.

We’re looking forward to spending 3 nights in a gorgeous house in Perris, filled with worship, messages, fellowship, and relaxation before you guys go back to school.

We’ll be organizing rides to the retreat site Wednesday afternoon and be back in Torrance on Saturday around 1:00pm.
